Having worked on the frontline in the Loyalty & Membership Services sector for over 20 years, I have visited many thousands of independent retail premises in towns across the UK.

Businesses have a duty of care to provide a safe environment for their staff and customers. I am a director of a holiday resort in North Yorkshire, and during the time of Covid-19, indoor air quality came to the forefront. Confusion and lack of direction in where to find reliable information on how to best protect our customers and staff was evident. Researching how best to protect them involved many hours learning about indoor air pollution, viruses, particulate matter, ionisation, and air filtration.

The knowledge and understanding I gained during this process led to me becoming a founder member of APTA, an evidence-based information hub to help educate the UK public and businesses and bring standards to this sector.
